First live action clip I recorded. Started off with little BJ wanting to make something since we were bored, so we handed him and my brother toy swords and i recorded them fighting and edited the videos together. Later I thought about making the swords glow so I tried it and this is what I got. Keep in mind I was making this up as i went.

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger DX GaoLion Review

This is my review for the Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger DX GaoLion. He's DX, which already makes him better than MagiDragon and PatStriker. They just can't compete with that kind of awesome. Anyway, once assembled from the many pieces in the box, he is rather large like the GaoLion that forms GaoCentaurus from Gaoranger. Turning him on makes the Power Animal Summon noise and pushing the button on his head will make different roaring sounds. After 20 pushes of the button, he makes an adorable "Meow" sound. GokaiOh minus the legs can be plugged into the top of GaoLion to form GaoGokaiOh, which looks a lot like GaoCentaurus. GaoLion can also be taken apart and used to form ShinkenGokaiOh. His tail forms a ShinkenOh-like helmet, his back legs fit into GokaiJet and GokaiRacer and his front legs form the legs. Turning the dial opens everything up to reveal the 5 elemental kanji from Shinkenger. The gray piece behind GaoLion's neck can join GokaiOh's swords into a naginata weapon and a piece of his body turns into a Rekka DaiZantou for him to use. Since both weapons are made to fit into the GokaiJet hand, he can't duel wield swords. Pushing the button on his head in this mode makes sword slashing noises. GaoGokaiOh looks ok and is very simple, and ShinkenGokaiOh looks pretty cool. GaoLion is a definite pick up even if you haven't purchased MagiDragon or PatStriker. He's the best GokaiMachine so far. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that he has wheels on the bottom of his feet. He ...

For a first Super Sentai SHF. He is actually not bad and kinda worth your money. Nice number of interchangable hands, two swords, a shodophone and one origami and one in lion mode. Two major things to note for nitpickers, head is not proportional with the rest of the body and darker red paint on the shoulders. The rest is epic...thank god he is not exclusive...too bad the rest of the team (except gold) is. If you are ok with just red then you are set. Another day and another repaint. This time Genzhao brings us a Transformers Payload image gallery. Seen earlier on our Toy Fair coverage, Payload takes the Revenge of the Fallen Long Haul mold, Hasbro has given us a nice Generation 2 inspired deco with weathering effects around the dump bed. Clear plastic is also replaced with translucent red, which is readily apparent on his twin swords that pop out of his forearms like before.

Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe ~ Project

He is quite a good figure, and I think the purple is nice. Bio on box: Sideswipe was built to fight. He is sleek, fast, and single-minded in battle, focusing on his enemy with absolute attention. His blades are a shining blur as he leaps through the air, twisting to avoid enemy fire. Converting from vehicle to robot at blinding spee, he uses every trick in the book to get close to his opponent, and put his powerful swords to work. This is my first repaint and I'm very satisfied with the result.

We are almost finished our European leg of our journey; we have a plane to catch on Monday to Greece where we have two weeks to wander. The next couple of days will be spent clearing Freda out and giving her a good cleaning, then putting 'er up for sale. On to some good news...we got our Russian visas! It was a bit up in the air as the process is pretty tricky - most people use an agent for this - but we managed to secure them ourselves so the plan is still intact. Now we have to deal with getting our China and Mongolia visas. As for how we've kept ourselves busy for the last couple of weeks in the van...we headed north into what was formerly East Germany. Our first bit of exploring was in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) region, a mountainous area rich in ore, hence the name. Most of the towns here were established by mining and the region does a good job of keeping its traditions and heritage alive.
