They look up to personalities, real and imagined who are stronger, smarter and faster than themselves: record-setting athletes, animated characters with superhuman strength, fictional girls who solve impossible mysteries, and hometown firefighters and police officers. Not only do kids admire such personalities- they also like to emulate them. This can mean trying to talk, dress and act like their heroes. If youre not convinced of this, take a tour of your local toy store and check out all the products patterned after real and imaginary heroes. Todays lesson provides you with a wonderful opportunity to lift up the greatest champion of all- the Lord Jesus. When the people of Juda and their King Jehosphaphat faced an impossible military situation, they turned wholeheartedly to God. And He gave them a very strange battle plan. Rather than using their swords and shields, they only had to use their voices. As they opened their mouths to praise the Lord, He fought on their behalf.
